August 2025 Activities
This month you are invited to learn about the Bahá’í vision of America’s present and future. At this year’s 117th National Bahá’í Convention in spring, in which 171 delegates from every part of the country took part, a thought-provoking live stream was produced, and can be viewed here or on YouTube.
“This special event explored the profound challenges and opportunities facing America, featuring inspiring messages and moving videos on themes such as:
The oneness of humanity and the urgent need to eliminate racism
America’s unique spiritual destiny and role in achieving global peace
Empowerment of youth as leaders and agents of societal transformation
Viewing religion as a source of unity and harmony
Building inclusive communities”
Bahá'ís welcome everyone to walk and work together in the process of community building. Please contact us.
This information about the program may be found on our post about A Common Endeavor.

Interfaith Devotions: Beaverton Bahá’í Center
Every Sunday, 10:30 am. Bahá’í Center, 5355 SW Murray Blvd, Beaverton, OR 97005.
This week the theme is Divine Virtues. Religion has always told us to live a virtuous life. That has included making life better for everyone else - living a life of service. The Baha'i Faith teaches us that each of us have potential virtues that we can develop to make our lives and that of others better. This is spiritual education. We do this through a life of service to develop our spiritual capacities thus preparing us for our next life.
Everyone of all ages is welcome! Bring your friends for a pleasant spiritual experience. There will be a period for open prayers and singing. Starting about 11 am there will be a free children's program for ages from 2 to 6 years. You are welcome to bring your kids and to help out with the children or attend the devotions program.
Coffee will be prepared. Dessert and snacks are potluck so bring something to share or just bring yourself. As always at the Center there are no donations.

Online Interfaith Devotions: Portland
Sunday Aug. 3, 10:00 am.
“Ultimately, the power to transform the world is effected by love, love originating from the relationship with the divine, love ablaze among members of a community, love extended without restriction to every human being. This divine love, ignited by the Word of God, is disseminated by enkindled souls through intimate conversations that create new susceptibilities in human hearts . . .” ~Universal House of Justice
Dear Friends,
The theme this Sunday is "Building the Kingdom of God on Earth.” What does it take to build the Kingdom of God here on earth? What can we do to bring about a fair and just government in our country and for the entire planet? Perhaps we start with our own community. Sunday we will look at Bahá’í elections for our Local Spiritual Assembly–our governing body that administers to our community business and events. The importance of understanding the guidance given to us regarding elections are the foundation of the Faith. This is community building! Our virtual doors open at 10:00 a.m. and our program will begin at 10:30 with music, writings/scripture and prayer. The Zoom link is below. Please join us!!
Sincerely, your host, Karen
