May Activities 2025

We continue celebrating the Days of Paradise, Ridvan, through May 1st. The bursting flowers of our Oregon spring take on extra meaning as we remember the beginning of the Bahá’í Faith in a beautiful rose garden.

From the evening of May 22nd through the 23rd, we’ll celebrate the evening in 1844 when the Herald of the Faith, the Báb, declared that He was the fulfillment of prophecy, and His Mission would prepare the way for another Divine Messenger soon to come. Tens of thousands became followers of the Báb despite horrific persecution. He prepared them for the appearance of Bahá’u’lláh.

Read about the Declaration of the Báb.

More on the life of the Báb.

Watch the 50-minute film Dawn of the Light. Available in multiple languages. Dawn of the Light portrays several individuals from different continents as they relate their own personal search after truth and meaning. They share their discovery that God has sent two Divine Manifestations—the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh—Whose teachings are revolutionizing human thought and behaviour, changing darkness into light. The film shows glimpses of how this same discovery is inspiring the efforts of many across the globe to serve humanity and to contribute to building a new pattern of life.” from Bahai.org
